I’m so late on this review but here itis…FINALLY!
On September 22, 2018 I went to an event called the Cultural Crawl in Washington, DC. down on U street. I have been to this even once before and had a blast. This time was definitely no different.
In case you are wondering, Cultural Crawl is a bar crawl based around Booze-Food-Street Art. That is the short version. Let me share the background on how the cultural crawl came about. Photo (above): @culturalcrawl on IG
What is Cultural Crawl?: (click description below to visit website)
Cultural Crawl is founded by three black creatives from Washington, D.C. with the goal to create a safe and inclusive space for individuals/groups to drink, eat and explore. The crawl travels nationwide in support of local businesses and the street art/murals surrounding them. The “Get up, get out & crawl” initiative encourages participants to take advantage of the event & explore what these neighborhoods have to offer by walking and/or biking to multiple locations.
Literally if you read the description, the event is just as it says. Each time I have been, it is an awesome time. There is always a diverse group of people of ALL backgrounds, not just black, who come out to have fun, enjoy the culture of the area and is drama free.
The event is well organized and offers specials from participating bars and restaurants. I think this time around no drink was over $5.00 during the crawl. FIVE DOLLARS!!!, you can’t beat that. Food might have varied in price depending on where you went. I honestly wouldn’t know though as I didn’t eat during the event, lol.
Listen outside of all of that, I’m all about positive vibes and a good time. The Cultural Crawl brings just that and more. Oh! I forgot to mention the street art and murals were AMAZING!!!!
Next event is October 27th in Raleigh, NC. visit culturalcrawl.com to learn more.
Until next time loves ❤
