Jasmine: A Wine Glass Half Full

An interview with Jasmine of

Traveling Through Life With a Wine Glass Half Full”

Hey Loves ❤

Today’s post is a little different as I welcome a guest into our world. I had the chance to conduct an interview with the lovely Ms. Jasmine Kazera. Jasmine is the creator of an awesome travel blog where she gives insight to her personal travel experiences (which are awesome!) as well as provide great & useful tips to her readers. So without further ado, lets get to this interview.

  1. Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?

AnswerMy name is Jasmine Kazera and I run a Travel/Lifestyle blog called Traveling Through Life With a Wine Glass Half Full. For me, traveling through life is a journey within itself. Life can sometimes get you down and you may encounter numerous stressful days. I believe it is all about perspective; keeping a positive attitude and open mind (seeing the glass half full rather than half empty) can really make a difference and help you though the toughest of times. One of the many things I pride myself on is being an optimistic person, so I’ve created this blog to help people get that same positive outlook on life and all it has to offer. I share Travel Tips, Stories and Inspiration all through a positive point a view.

Very soon, I plan to start incorporating an additional section on my blog where I will be chronicling myself as I start a journey to support 100 black owned businesses, I am very excited to share this venture and collab with all of the amazing companies out there!

2. Describe how and/or why you first started blogging? How long has it been?

Answer: So far, I have been blogging for a little over 3 months. I decided to start blogging for a couple of reasons. One reason is because I have always loved to write, it has always been my favorite past time. Secondly, because I wanted to share my positivity with the world. Right now there is so much negativity around us and I think people need more positive outlets to turn to and I hope that my blog and the stories and experiences that I share can offer that.

3. What do you find to be the most frustrating part of blogging?

Answer: The most frustrating part of blogging for me was initially setting up my website. I would say that I am pretty computer savvy, I even took computer classes in college but I sure did run in to a lot of unexpected issues setting up my website! There were times that I wanted to just hire help but the other part of me wanted to overcome the obstacle and do it all on my own… eventually I figured things out and I am still learning. I think I thought it would be easier than it actually was. I know everyone does not have this same issue and it depends on what hot site you use as some are easier to navigate than others.

4. How do you manage your time to run your blog?

Answer: Currently, I work a 9-5 job and I recently went back to school to obtain a master’s degree. These two things alone take up a large portion of my time, so it can sometimes be difficult to find the time to blog consistently. What helps me the most is using a planner…and I’m talking about an old-fashioned planner, not one on the computer. I like to physically write things down and check off tasks as I complete them. The better I plan out my week and the tasks I have to complete the easier it is to make time for them and get them done.

5. How do you stay motivated to blog consistently?

Answer: Staying motivated to blog is all about my “why”. When I feel discouraged I remember why I started this journey. Writing truly does make me happy so as soon as I start writing I feel an instant push and motivation. Also, I think about my readers and those that are engaged and looking forward to my content, I remember that I made myself a promise to bring positivity to people through my blog posts and that really keeps me going!

6. As a new blogger, is there any advice that you may have for someone just starting or wanting to start a blog?

Answer: My advice to new bloggers would be, even if you are having doubts about starting, just do it! I sat on the idea of blogging for almost a whole year before I actually started because I had too much fear and doubts and now I wish I would have started way earlier. My second piece of advice is to always remember why you got started and use that as your motivation to stick with it. Lastly, try to be consistent, and have fun!

7. Name three (3) of your favorite bloggers/blogs thus far.

Answer:  3 of my favorite bloggers at the moment are

  • Ciara of Hey Ciara
  • Ashlee of Will Drink for Travel
  • Hannah of Intrepid Introvert

So, there we have it! I want to thank Jasmine for being apart of a vision that I had. I really enjoyed this process working with you. Thanks for introducing yourself, your blog and your upcoming ventures. I wish you nothing but the best in your journey ahead and I hope that we can collaborate again in the future.
